Tony Martinez died at his home in Watsonville on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017. He was 72.

Mr. Martinez was born in Dinuba and moved to this area when he was a small child. He was a truck driver for 40 years before he retired. He enjoyed going fishing and riding his motorcycles but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Martinez is survived by his sons, Edward Martinez and Randy LaMere, both of Watsonville; daughters, Bettina and Carol Martinez, both of Watsonville; brother, Johnny Martinez of Clovis; sisters, Mary and Josefin Martinez, both of Watsonville; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his children, John and Marilyn Martinez; six brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 12-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to assist in funeral service costs.
