Isabel Garza died on Aug. 23. He was 85.
He was born on Nov. 19, 1933 in Monterey, Mexico to Herino and Maria Garza. A native of Watsonville, he lived in the city for 67 years.
He started driving trucks and working in the fields in the 1970’s. He transitioned to working with a good friend at his bar. He was a good business man and was able to save up and purchase his first bar in Watsonville called “El Tenampa.”
He was married to his wife Mary for 56 years.
He loved to care for his cacti gardens and was a hard worker. He was a fan of the San Francisco Giants baseball team. He was a man who loved his family.
He is survived by his brother, Sergio Garza; his sister, Blanca Garza; his sons, Philip and Jaime Garza; four grandsons and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, his son Adrian Garza, and his sisters, Maria Torrez and Teresa Salinas.
A visitation will be held on Sept. 1 from 5-9 p.m. at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel. A recitation of the rosary will be held at 7 p.m. There will be no burial.
