WATSONVILLE—A Moss Landing woman was killed early Sunday in a head-on DUI collision near the Airport Boulevard exit on Highway 1.
Johanna Mayapuga, 22, of Santa Cruz, was reportedly under the influence of alcohol and driving the wrong way on Southbound Highway 1 in her 2015 Nissan Altima when she crashed into a 2002 BMW, killing the 45-year-old female passenger and seriously injuring the 46-year-old male driver.
The victim was identified as Olivia Tiscareno by the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver suffered major injuries and was transported to Natividad Medical Center.
Mayapuga was arrested for Felony DUI and was transported to Natividad Medical Center for moderate injuries. She was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail, jail records show.
