Man recently shot near Pajaro levee dies, police say

WATSONVILLE—A man who was shot Feb. 13 on the Pajaro River levee at the end of Walker Street has died from his injuries, Watsonville Police Department spokeswoman Michelle Pulido said.

The case is now being investigated as a homicide, she said.

According to Pulido, officers responded to the area shortly after midnight and found the victim—a 46-year-old man—down an embankment near a campsite.

The victim, who was shot at least twice, was taken to an out-of-county trauma center.

Anyone with information on this case (21W-00580), is asked to call Det. Salvador Mendoza at 768-3357, or the WPD anonymous tip line at 768-3544.
