The Watsonville High School graduating class of 1953 will have its 68-year reunion on Aug. 19 at the Best Western Inn in Aptos, organizers announced.
The theme is “One for the Road.” Organizers ask attendees to bring photos, memorabilia and stories. Local historian Mas Hashimoto will speak on “Why did it take me 40 years to get out of WHS?”
The event will run from noon-6pm. Tickets are $40. Checks, payable to WHS Class of 1953 Reunion, should be mailed to Frank Herring, Chair, P.O. Box 2038, Santa Rosa, CA 95405.

Positive Discipline hosts ‘Baila y Brunch’ Saturday
Positive Discipline Community Resources will host their first-ever Baila y Brunch fundraiser on Saturday from 11am-2pm at Pinto Lake City Park in Watsonville.
Families throughout the Watsonville area are invited. There is a suggested donation of $25 at the door, but nobody will be turned away. There will be a brunch, followed by a bail-a-thon featuring three guided dances: Merengue, hula hoop and Cumbia. There will also be a silent auction.
Positive Discipline Community Resources is a social change nonprofit that provides a developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, bilingual parent and adult education across Santa Cruz and Monterey counties.
