Photo: Jacob’s Heart gifted $8,000

A giant $8,000 check is presented to Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Support Services Friday by State Senator Laird (second from left) along with Spectrum representatives.

The money is part of Spectrum’s digital education grant, a five-year, $7 million commitment to digital education in Spectrum communities across the country. A fifth generation Californian, Tarmo was born in the Mother Lode of the Sierra (Columbia) and has lived in Santa Cruz County since the late 1970s. He earned a BA from UC Santa Cruz and has traveled to 33 countries.
