WATSONVILLE — Jesus A. Sanchez died at Watsonville Community Hospital surrounded by his family on January 4, 2018. He was 83.

Mr. Sanchez was born to David Sanchez and Herminia Avalos at Michoacán, Mexico on July 6, 1934. He was a resident of this community for 53 years. He was a hard worker, always providing for his large family working in the lettuce fields. He loved his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Sanchez is survived by his eight sons, Jose Antonio, Gonzalo, Jorge, Jesus, Luis, Ramon, Carlos, and Luis Antonio Sanchez; three daughters, Luz Maria Quinteno, Herminia Plasencia, and Josefina Magana; and 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Estela.

Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Thursday, Jan. 11 from 5-9 p.m. with the rosary recited at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians on Friday, Jan. 12 with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
