MONTEREY COUNTY—Monterey County Sheriff’s deputies on Saturday arrested two brothers at a residence in the unincorporated area of Las Lomas after a woman was found dead.

Miguel Casillas-Cervantes, 27, was booked into Monterey County Jail for child endangerment, and manslaughter in lieu of $55,000 bail, jail records showed. Axell Casillas-Cervantes, 24, faces child endangerment and various weapons charges. He was not in custody Monday.

According to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence on Gregory Road at about 11:30pm for a report of an injured female. Deputies found a dead woman who had suffered a gunshot wound. Investigators believe foul play was involved.
