Grace Kovacs, St. Francis, (Sr.): St. Francis’ three-sport athlete is set to compete in volleyball, basketball and softball for the Sharks this season.

Kovacs will begin the fall season by trying to help turn around a girls’ volleyball team that finished 1-10 in Pacific Coast Athletic League Mission division play.

In the winter, she’ll return to the girls’ basketball team that finished 12-13 overall and tied with Carmel with a 7-3 mark for a share of the PCAL-Cypress title. Kovacs will have to step up as one of the leaders with Janessa Yniguez, the division’s Most Valuable Player last season, gone after graduating.

Finally, she’ll be one of many key components on the softball team that won last year’s PCAL-Cypress title, the first league championship in the program’s history. The future looks bright with a team loaded with young talent, including sophomore standout pitcher Alicia Mendez.
