The California Highway Patrol sorts out a four-vehicle crash on Highway 1 just south of 41st Avenue in Capitola Monday morning. Sgt. Grant Boles said a female motorist apparently failed to noticed traffic had stopped in front of her while traveling in the fast lane of northbound Highway 1 around 8:50 a.m. Her car plowed into the rear of one car, which then crushed into another car, which, in turn, was shoved into a fourth car. The female motorist suffered minor injuries, Boles said. Traffic, meanwhile, backed up into a logjam as far south as Freedom Boulevard, paralyzing the morning commute.
