Watsonville closed out its Pacific Coast Athletic League Gabilan division season with a pair of ties, but the draws were more than enough for the Wildcatz to capture their first league title since the 2014-15 season.
Monday’s 2-2 tie at Soledad clinched the league title outright, and a 1-1 tie against San Benito on senior night the following day allowed Watsonville to sail into the upcoming Central Coast Section playoffs with their heads held high.
The Wildcatz closed out the regular season with a 12-2-5 overall record and a 6-1-3 league standing.
