WATSONVILLE — Officials from Pajaro Valley Community Health Trust on Tuesday named their new executive director.
DeAndre James began his healthcare career as a Hospital Corpsman in the U.S. Navy. He joins the Health Trust from recent service as Chief Operating Officer at San Mateo Medical Center.
He also served as executive director of Dignity Health Medical Group at Dominican Hospital.
James holds a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management from Southern Illinois University, and a master’s in health system management from Rush University.

James will begin his tenure on Feb. 25. Acting CEO Caitlin Brune will finish out her contract, which ends on March 31.
“I’m pleased to be handing over responsibilities to someone steeped in making healthcare accessible to the underserved,” Brune said. “My sincerest hope is that this time of executive transition yields opportunities to deepen and grow the work we’ve done together over the past two-plus years, while I’ve been in the executive seat, and for the 18 years before that under Kathleen King.”

The Health Trust will host a meet and greet event in early April so community members will have an opportunity to welcome James to his new role. Event details will be posted on social media and the Health Trust’s website at www.pvhealthtrust.org/events.
