SANTA CRUZ — Jennie A. Montoya died peacefully in Santa Cruz surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 30, 2017. She was 90.
Mrs. Montoya was a woman of many wonderful traits. She enjoyed taking walks to Pinto Lake Park, gardening and cooking authentic Mexican food. She was very family oriented. She was totally devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a woman of strong faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Montoya; and son, Alex Montoya. She is survived by her siblings, Joe Perez, Elizabeth Valencia, Pearl Ybarra, Paul Perez, Lupe Perez, Mary Ellen Cisneros and Antonio De La Rosa; her daughter-in-law; her three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 12 at Valley Catholic Church at 10 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Second Harvest Food Bank or Hospice of Santa Cruz County.
