Eduardo “El Pajarito” Arias Vanegas died on Aug. 3. He was 75.

He was born in Mexico City on Jan. 25, 1944 and came to the United States in 1970 to start a new life with his family.  He worked as a facility maintenance worker for Pajaro Valley Greenhouse for 27 years.

In his spare time, he enjoyed dancing salsa and cumbias, as well as spending time with his animals. He enjoyed keeping himself busy either working on his property or creating new projects for himself. When someone was in need he was always willing to lend a helping hand.

He is survived by Florentina Vanegas, his wife of 65 years; daughter Leslie P. Vanegas, sons Eduardo P. Vanegas and Robert P. Vanegas, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A viewing and Rosary will be held on Aug. 14 from 5-9 p.m. at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel 222 E. Lake Avenue.
