Natalia Ackerman, Aptos, (Sr.): The 6-foot-1, two-sport athlete, will try to top a stellar junior year with an even better senior campaign. Ackerman last year helped Aptos get a redemption win over South San Francisco to capture its second Central Coast Section Division III crown in the last three years.
The Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo commit averaged 29.3 points and 16.3 rebounds over Aptos’ three-game CCS postseason run.
The Mariners (23-7, 9-1) were Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League co-champions with Soquel (17-10, 9-1).
In 29 games played, the all-league first team selection averaged a team-high 16.4 points, 3.8 steals and 2.3 assists per game, while also recording 10.6 rebounds per contest, according to MaxPreps.com.
During the fall, Ackerman played outside hitter and opposite position on the volleyball team. She finished with 241 kills, 58 blocks (13 solo) and 61 digs, along with five aces for Aptos.
The Mariners (25-10, 10-2) were runners-up to league champion Soquel (31-7, 12-0) but Ackerman and company still managed to make a trip to the CCS D-III finals and were CIF D-III qualifiers.
