Man killed in collision with pole

WATSONVILLE — The 71-year-old Watsonville man who died Tuesday night when he hit a utility pole after losing control of his vehicle was identified Thursday as Wayne Greene.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Greene was driving a 2007 B2300 east on Larkin Valley Road just west of White Road around 9:10 p.m. when he crossed over the center line for an unknown reason and struck the pole. 

No other injuries were reported. The pole sustained minor damage.
