A man was arrested Wednesday at his Watsonville home on suspicion of arranging for sex with a minor, according to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety (SDPS).

Officials at the SDPS received information that Pablo Taskey, 27, used an online social media application, and arranged to meet a person he believed to be a 12-year-old girl in Sunnyvale for the purpose of sex.

Upon being confronted, Taskey fled Sunnyvale prior to police arrival and the case was turned over to the Sunnyvale DPS Investigations Unit. Detectives investigated the case and requested an arrest warrant from the Santa Clara District Attorney’s Office.

On Wednesday Sunnyvale detectives arrested Taskey in Watsonville and served a residential search warrant at his home.

Watsonville Police Sgt. Mish Radish said WPD assisted with the arrest at Taskey’s home on Altamont Drive, where he rented a room.

Taskey was booked into Santa Clara County Jail for communication with a minor with knowledge/intent to commit a specific crime and arranging or meeting with a minor for lewd lascivious behavior.
