WATSONVILLE—Firefighters were busy dealing with a 3-vehicle crash this morning on Freedom Blvd.

Watsonville Police traffic officer Sjon Tol said the male driver of a Mitsubishi Galant failed to notice traffic had stopped on southbound Freedom Boulevard just north of Main Street at 9:55 a.m. His car shot over the curb and flattened a street sign before bashing into the rear of a Honda Accord with a female driver. The Honda was then shoved into the rear of a Ford F-250 truck with a male driver.

Witnesses helped police track down the Galant driver who walked up Main Street toward Auto Center Drive. Only minor injuries were reported. Both cars sustained major damage and the truck had minor damage.

One lane of southbound Freedom was shut down for about 90 minutes.
