PAJARO—A 30-year-old Royal Oaks woman died in a two-vehicle crash in Pajaro Wednesday.

California Highway Patrol spokeswoman Jessica Madueño said the woman, who has not been named, was traveling eastbound on San Juan Road at 12:47 p.m. while passing unsafely through a two-way turn section of the road.

She lost control of her white 1994 Nissan Sentra west of Allison Street and rolled several times. The Nissan sedan then struck a chain-link fence and landed on top of an empty flatbed trailer.

The CHP joined North Monterey County Fire at the crash site where the driver was pronounced dead.

“Currently alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this traffic collision,” Madueño said.

The Monterey County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the driver when the next of kin has been notified.
