Watsonville police investigating 2nd fatal shooting in 3 days

WATSONVILLE—Watsonville police are investigating the second deadly shooting in three days, after a 19-year-old died of a gunshot wound Saturday night near the Pajaro River levee.

Watsonville police around 7pm responded to the dead end of Walker Street near the levee after a caller found a victim with a gunshot wound near the railroad tracks. The victim died at the scene.

There is no suspect(s) information available at this time, according to Watsonville police. It is unknown if the shooting is gang-related.

The news came just two days after a 30-year-old man was fatally shot while driving on South Green Valley Road.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Det. Salvador Mendoza at 768-3357.
