WATSONVILLE — The new Hampton Inn & Suites on Lee Road is slated for an early March opening.
Owner Juggy Tut said he is excited about the doors finally swinging open at the 112-room, four-story inn that has largely been constructed during the pandemic.
“We’re looking forward to having guests in our new building,” he said. “There have been some trying issues, but we are nearing an opening date.”
At the end of last year the new Starbucks opened in front of the inn and has welcomed a near constant line of drive-thru customers. Tut said the new Arco AM/PM mini market, with nine gas pump stations on the same property, is also set to open in March. There are also several new empty business spots at the site that have not been filled.
“We’re still looking for good tenants to fill these spaces,” Tut said. “Everything takes time.”
Also in the works in the upcoming weeks will be new tower signs for the AM/PM and inn that will be visible from Highway 1.
The inn will feature an indoor pool, a large gym and a meeting space.
“The rooms will be the latest in updated technology,” Tut said. “For starters, the thermometer, the TV and your room key can all be controlled with your phone.”
Hampton Inn & Suites is now hiring, as advertised on a large banner beside the building. Their phone number is 608.422.0567.
