WATSONVILLE—The Monte Vista Christian track and field team got a chance to compete on its new track surface for the first league meet of the season.
The Mustangs went up against Ceiba College Prep, Mount Madonna School, Pajaro Valley High and St. Francis High in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League action on April 1.
It was the first time in more than a year that track and field athletes were able to compete after the Covid-19 pandemic forced schools to cancel last year’s spring sports season.
MVC will host Aptos High on April 8 at 3pm. Pajaro Valley will compete on its new track against Watsonville High on the same date and time.
