Flood meeting set
The City of Watsonville has scheduled a community meeting to discuss the flooding in neighborhoods that kicked off 2023.
The meeting will take place at Ann Soldo Elementary School’s cafeteria, 1140 Menasco Drive, on May 15 from 4-6pm.
Regan Vineyards now open for wine tasting
Regan Vineyards Winery, 1610 Green Valley Road in Corralitos, is now open for wine tasting for the third season on Sundays.
The tasting season runs into early November.
This tasting experience offers three Regan estate wines: 2021 Regan Chardonnay, 2021 Regan Pinot Noir and 2020 Regan Merlot.
This is John Bargetto’s latest wine venture, and he added that he is happy to share his winegrowing and winemaking experience through this experience.
The tasting fee is $25 per person and includes a small snack as well as a personal vineyard tour.

County to host career fair
The third annual County of Santa Cruz Career Fair will be held May 17 from 4-7pm at the Watsonville Civic Plaza Community Room, 275 Main St., fourth floor.
The Career Fair offers residents of all skill levels a chance to discuss career opportunities with representatives from more than 20 County departments, including Animal Services, Auditor-Controller-Treasurer-Tax Collector, District Attorney, Health Services and Human Services, Parks and Recreation, Probation, Public Works and more.
Lumberjack breakfast on tap
The Corralitos Padres will host the 62nd annual Lumberjack Breakfast May 28 at the Corralitos Community Center, 35 Browns Valley Road in Corralitos.
The “all you can eat” menu features hotcakes, bacon, eggs, hash browns, juice and coffee. Dave Peterson, president of Corralitos Market and Sausage Co., said proceeds go to help local youth organizations. Early day gas engines and antique cars will be on display.
With a theme of “Serving Community Youth,” the event runs from dawn until noon. Lumberjacks and Jills are $22, 12 and under are $15, and those under 5 are free. Parking is free.
Kitayama Brothers Farms to host Gerbera Festival
Online ordering is available for the 13th annual Gerbera Festival through May 17 at thatsmypark.org/collections.
The popular perennials come in a variety of colors.
Preorders are required. You can preorder your crates of five plants each online for $15 each.
Orders will be available for pickup from 9am to 1pm on May 20 at Kitayama Brothers Farms at 481 San Andreas Road in Watsonville.
Crates will be available the day of for $20, if they are not sold out.
Proceeds benefit the Kids2Parks Program, a program that ensures all children in the community have equal access to state park field trips.
