Traffic is channeled into one lane in each direction in what once was both southbound lanes of Freedom Boulevard Thursday as major improvement work continues. Joshua Nol of McKim Corporation said all traffic has been shifted to the west side of the road, while the east side is being reconstructed. Businesses will be open during the road reconstruction that includes repaving. He asked motorists to be aware of traffic control and detour signs, flashing street lights and flaggers. “Numerous trucks will be on the roads delivering asphalt for the project,” Nol said. The work will continue through the beginning of the week of July 17 when the second of the five-phase project ends. The work is taking place between Crestview Drive and around Sydney Avenue.
