Community Bridges’ Lift Line transportation program is expanding its door-to-door services to all Santa Cruz County residents with disabilities thanks to a state grant from the California Public Utilities Commission Transportation Network Company’s Access for All program. It will be a first-of-its-kind program without income restrictions geared toward increasing access to accessible transportation for all transit users in need, regardless of their destination.
The Lift Line Access for All program will offer transportation to all county residents with disabilities to any destination within the county at a flat fee of $5 (income-eligible older adults and people with disabilities will continue to use Lift Line’s services at no cost).
“Lift Line’s mission to create a more accessible world by ensuring all county residents have full and unfettered access to our community is something we take seriously. We continue to expand services and access to our community through innovative projects and honor our commitment through our Measure D efforts to ensure we are the most accessible community in the state,” Community Bridges CEO Ray Cancino said.
Lift Line’s self-service mobile app will serve as the primary scheduling point of contact similar to Uber and Lift, allowing users to schedule rides up to seven days in advance with pickup available as early as the same day.
