Two teenagers were arrested recently by Capitola Police after officers found them with a large amount of drugs.
Capitola Police said the two juveniles were stopped for public intoxication. During a search, police found hundreds of Xanax-style pills, 30 grams of psilocybin “magic mushrooms,” several THC vape cartridges, 20 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
The drugs were found inside a locked metal safe in one of the suspects’ bags, and were packaged in a manner consistent with sales, police said.
Police also found alcohol and nitrous oxide, a gas used by dentists and in making whipped cream that gives a euphoric rush.
Both suspects were booked into Juvenile Hall, one for numerous narcotics related charges, including possession for the purpose of sales, the other for alcohol violations, resisting, battery on a law enforcement officer, and battery on a hospital employee.
“We cannot reiterate enough how dangerous these substances, especially when used in combination, are towards children,” Capitola Police said.
