Boys

Brian Flores (Sr.), Pajaro Valley

The Grizzlies’ standout football player had a superb game on both sides of the ball in their 46-10 blowout win over Santa Cruz High in Pacific Coast Athletic League Santa Lucia Division action Oct. 5. Flores recorded a pair of touchdowns from 6- and 1-yards out for Pajaro Valley, which improved to 2-0 in league play. He was also all over the field on defense, recording double digit tackles and applying pressure in the Cardinals’ backfield throughout the evening.  

Girls

Daisy Cornejo (Sr.), Watsonville

Cornejo had a huge night on the court to help the Wildcatz girls’ volleyball team get past Gonzales High in a thrilling five-set victory in Pacific Coast Athletic League Mission Division action Oct. 2. She finished with a team-best 18 kills to go along with 20 digs and four serve aces. Cornejo was also a huge contributor during the Watsonville High Tournament on Oct. 5, helping the ‘Catz finish with a 2-2 record and a trip to the Silver Bracket finals.
