A Watsonville woman was taken into custody on Nov. 1 just past noon on suspicion of stabbing a man multiple times.

Watsonville Police spokeswoman Michelle Pulido said 

officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the 100 block of 2nd Street shortly before 12:30pm, where they found a 24-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The man was taken to an out-of-county trauma center and is expected to recover.

While police were searching the area, they found the 18-year-old suspect, Emily Garcia, hiding in the backseat of a parked car. She was taken into custody and later booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.

Garcia is now facing charges of domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon. She was released on bond on Nov. 4, court records showed. 

The incident is still under investigation.
