The Golden State Warriors have enjoyed a great start to their season and currently sit in fifth place behind Oklahoma City, Houston, Dallas and Denver in the NBA Western Conference.

Despite this, bookmakers don’t fancy their chances of taking the conference title, pricing them as 12/1 seventh favorite. The odds of them lifting the NBA Championship vary from around 22/1 to 40/1, making them ninth favorites.

Of course, there is plenty of time for them to prove their potential, and online gambling expert Alexander Reed also recommends crypto sports betting for player prop, futures, and spreads markets.

The best sites will offer a diverse selection of basketball betting markets as well as providing users with a safe and secure way of betting. Licensed offshore crypto betting facilities boast strong security protocols, fast transactions, and the potential for enticing bonuses.

However, bettors should be aware that the Warriors will be without Gui Santos who has been assigned to the Santa Cruz Warriors, their G League affiliate. The six-foot-six forward was recalled to Golden State on the 13th before being assigned back to the G League on the 14th.

The 22-year-old Brazilian started his career with NBB (Novo Basquete Brasil) side Minas before declaring for the NBA draft, where he was the 55th overall pick for the Golden State Warriors in 2022. Santos was always destined to be a basketball star, with his father Deivisson and mother Lucineide both playing basketball when they were younger.

In his 6 appearances this season he has a 33.3 percent 3-point field goal average, and averages 1 rebound, and 1 point per game in roughly 4 minutes of play per game. His career stats put him at 7.6 minutes of game time from his 28 appearances, where he averages 89.5 percent in free throws, 1.9 rebounds and 3.1 points.

It is too early in the season to make many judgments about the Santa Cruz Warriors, following four victories and five defeats in the opening two matches for Nick Kerr’s team.

Santos has enjoyed his time in the G League and Kerr will be happy to see him return after he averaged 27.6 minutes of game time, 6.7 rebounds, 13.7 points, and 2.5 assists in his two seasons with Santa Cruz.

Santos is set to have a bright future ahead of him with Golden State after signing a 3-year contract in 2023. Head coach Steve Kerr (father of Santa Cruz head coach Nick) has been complimentary about Santos in the past, and only a deep squad is keeping him from making an impact already.

The assignment will help him to continue his development in a competitive league and should set him up for the future. If he reaches his potential this season with the Santa Cruz Warriors, Steve Kerr could find himself having a great option for the 2025/26 season on his hands.

Santos joined the Warriors in time to feature in their tie against the South Bay Lakers, and a busy schedule that pits them against the Stockton Kings and the Salt Lake City Stars in the coming weeks should see him kept busy with the opportunity of adding to this season’s game time.
