The annual Pajaro Valley Quilt Association is showcasing over 300 quilts at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds this weekend. With the theme of, “It’s Hip to Be Square,” the huge variety of homemade quilts, from machine to hand-sewn, from small to huge, from black and white to a full color spectrum, continues Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

The featured guest is Thom Aiken, known for his beaded quilts and tapestries. He has been working with beads for around thirty years. Starting with jewelry and then bead embroidery he graduated to bead embellished quilts.

The show includes demonstrations, bead turning, and a “wearables walkabout” mini fashion show as well as vendors and the Annual Art Auction on Sunday.
The show is at the fairgrounds, 2601 East Lake Avenue, Watsonville.
Admission: $15 General. For information, workshops, membership and more, call 808.446.1328 or visit pvqu.org.
