The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in finding the driver of a pickup involved in a rollover crash Saturday in Las Lomas that left a Watsonville teen dead.

CHP officer Saul Perez said the 19-year-old male victim was a passenger in a red Toyota pickup with an unknown driver traveling southbound on Hudson Landing Road south of Wells Road.

At around 2:45 p.m. the Toyota veered off the pavement, slammed into a utility pole, overturned and ejected the victim from the truck.

The driver fled the scene, Perez said.

The teen who was thrown from the truck was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota still remains unidentified. The CHP is asking anyone with information about the rollover crash to call the CHP at 831.770.8000 or their 24-hour line, at 831.796.2160.
