The Santa Cruz County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office announced the discovery of a body in a densely-wooded area off of Ice Cream Grade on the north side of Santa Cruz.

On Jan. 17 and 18, search efforts for 73-year-old Jeanne Burke continued in the area of Ice Cream Grade and Moore Ranch Road. On the afternoon of Jan. 18, a body was discovered in the search zone they were working. The Sheriff’s Office has not yet determined the identity of the recovered body. 

Sgt. Ryan Farotte said the Santa Cruz County Search and Rescue Team played a valuable role in the operation.
