Burke

A woman’s body recovered on Jan. 18 in the area of Smith Grade and Moore Ranch Road has been identified as 73-year-old Jeanne Burke, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office. 

Burke was last seen Nov. 18 at 4:30pm in the area of Moore Ranch Road in Felton. Due to medical reasons, police were concerned for her safety. 

Numerous law agencies were aided by approximately 80–100 search and rescue team members from Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, Marin, San Mateo and Contra Costa counties, as well as Bay Area Mountain Rescue Unit and the California Office of Emergency Services in the search for her.
