Santa Cruz Police have arrested two 17-year-old juvenile males on suspicion of firing shots at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk late Monday night.
Police said that around 9pm they received reports of shots fired at the parking lot across from the Boardwalk. On arrival, officers canvassed the area for suspects, secured the scene, and collected multiple pieces of evidence.
Investigators later identified and arrested two suspects in Ceres, California.
SCPD worked with the Santa Cruz Seaside Company, which operates the Boardwalk, on the investigation.
Police said officers responded to reports of shots fired on the evening of Aug. 3. No one was struck by the gunfire, and no injuries were reported.
A Reddit user said that the Boardwalk was evacuated, and that several people began to scatter and scream.
The investigation is ongoing.
