The Mets completed their undefeated run through the Pajaro Valley Little League AAA Minors playoff bracket on Tuesday night, beating the Red Sox 10-4 for the championship.

Jacob Jimenez’s two-run triple in the first sparked a three-run first inning, giving the Mets the early lead.

Mason Borrego’s one-out triple in the third inning was the catalyst for another three-run burst but the Sox came alive in the home half with a four-run rally of their own, the big hit being a Marcus Gonzales two-out triple, which cleared the bases and closed the gap to 6-4.

The fifth inning featured a leadoff single by Max Aceves, who later scored on Ryan Solorio’s ground out. Jimenez also picked up his third RBI of the game with a two-out single in the fifth.

The game ended in the sixth inning via the playoff five-run rule after Rudy Valdez scored on a wild pitch.

Solorio and Valdez combined to limit the Sox to one hit in five innings while notching 11 strikeouts.

The Mets have won 17 consecutive games and will represent PVLL in the upcoming District 39 Minors Tournament of Champions, which is set to begin on Sunday at Capitola Soquel Little League.
