Emergency workers struggle to free a woman trapped in an upside-down Honda Accord sedan Tuesday after it flipped over on East Lake Avenue. About 12:15 p.m. the female driver was traveling eastbound on East Lake Avenue when, for unknown reasons, her newer model car shot off the right shoulder into the parking lot of Mariscos El Nayaritas #2 restaurant. The car hit a guy wire to a utility pole and climbed up the wire. Her bumper was torn off and ended twisted in the guy wire 10-feet off the ground. The Honda then flipped over and landed in the parking lot. Emergency crews had to work about 25 minutes to free the woman who suffered moderate to major injuries. The incident is still under investigation. The crash forced emergency officials to shut down East Lake Avenue in both directions for more than an hour for the rescue and mop-up.
