WATSONVILLE — Bernardo A. (Benny) Vasquez died at home surrounded by his family. He was 60.

Mr. Vasquez was born in Gilroy on the Fourth of July, 1957 to Josefina and Martino Vasquez. He loved to dance, play pool and play cards. He enjoyed making people laugh. He was a hard-working carpenter because he loved his job. He was a wonderful person with a big heart. He enjoyed helping others.

Mr. Vasquez is survived by his children, Sandra Magdaleno, Bernardo Vasquez Jr., Annita, and Mary Jo Vasquez; his mother, Josefina Vasquez; siblings, Maria Vasquez, Eduardo Vasquez; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Romero.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 5 from 5-9 p.m.
