CORRALITOS — A full slate of events is planned for Sept. 15-17 as part of “Freedom Weekend” at Corralitos Community Church, an annual look at the global problem of human trafficking.

The goal of the weekend is to increase awareness about modern slavery and fuel the fight to end it. Kevin Austin, founder and executive director of the Set Free Movement, is a featured guest, as is singer/songwriter Richard Andrew. Felicia George, who heads Set Free Watsonville, will also speak.

Weekend events include:

• Friday, 7 p.m.: A screening of the documentary “I Am Jane Doe,” chronicling the battle of several American mothers on behalf of their middle-school age daughters who were victims of sex trafficking. A question-and-answer session with Kevin Austin and Felicia George will follow. Admission is $5 at the door. Ages 13 and up only.

• Saturday, 5 p.m.: Dinner catered by D’La Colmena, with a concert by musician and messenger Richard Andrew. As the award-winning recording artist performs, he weaves his personal story of finding freedom after life as a high school drop-out, teen father, addict, drug dealer and homeless felon. Reservations are recommended and available by calling 905-0807. Admission is $10 at the door.

• Sunday, 10 a.m.: As featured guest during the Sunday gathering at Corralitos Community Church, Kevin Austin, founder and executive director of the Set Free Movement, will deliver a message of activism and freedom. He will share how his organization is creating new futures and ending modern slavery through community-based action and partnerships, including the local efforts of Set Free Watsonville. Admission is free.

All events will take place at Corralitos Community Church, 26 Browns Valley Road in Corralitos. Proceeds from the weekend benefit Set Free Movement.
