WATSONVILLE — Alberto Arizmendi died at his residence surrounded by his family on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017. He was 58.

Mr. Arizmendi was born to Salvador and Herlinda Arizmendi on June 10, 1959 in Guerrero, Mexico. He settled in this community about 25 years ago working hard and providing for his family. He enjoyed being self-employed as a landscaper for 22 years and held a second job working the night shifts in local canneries. He also liked to do mechanic work on cars, but when resting he liked to listen to the old ranchera songs and watch his favorite soccer team play, Toluca.

Mr. Arizmendi is survived his wife, Gloria Alvarez of 24 years; two sons, Jose (Denise) Arizmendi and Antonio Arizmendi; and one grandchild.

Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Thursday, Oct. 19 from 5-9 p.m. with the rosary recited at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians on Friday, Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
