The Cabrillo College Seahawks improved to 28-1 and advanced in the California Community College Athletic Association Northern California tournament with a 25-23, 25-18, 25-10 win over West Valley College on Tuesday night.

Cabrillo, the top seed in the NorCal bracket, hosts De Anza College tonight at 7 p.m. for the right to advance to the state championship.

Camryn Rocha had 14 kills, Kylie Kvam added 12 kills and four aces  and Mari Molina made 40 assists and five digs for the Seahawks.

• Watsonville 4, Carmel 0 – The Watsonville High Wildcatz started their season with a shutout victory over Carmel High on Tuesday night.

Jacky Garcia, Ashley Haduca, Anissa Lopez and Jacqueline Navarro all scored for Watsonville, which hosts Soledad on Tuesday at 6:45 p.m.

• Watsonville 5, King City 0 – Erik Herrera scored a pair of goals in the Watsonville High Wildcatz’ season-opening victory over King City High on Monday.

Ricardo Alvarado, Alex Gonzales and Jose Villanueva also scored for Watsonville.

G LEAGUE BASKETBALL

• Santa Cruz 128, Texas 115 – Quinn Cook scored 10 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter to lift the Santa Cruz Warriors over the Texas Legends, 128-115, on Tuesday night in Frisco, Texas.

Cook also made nine assists for Santa Cruz.

Damian Jones added 22 points and 16 rebounds, Georges Niang chipped in 20 points, five rebounds, five assists and Alex Hamilton returned to the court with 19 points and five assists.
