WATSONVILLE — Claudine Lopes died on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017. She was 82.

Mrs. Lopes was born to Frank and Bettie Tibbitts on July 17, 1935 in Watsonville. She married Ronald H. Lopes on Aug. 14, 1954. They were married for 63 years. She loved fishing and camping with family and friends. She enjoyed gardening and pickling vegetables with her husband. Most importantly, Mrs. Lopes loved spending time with her family. Her heart was full of love and she was the rock for the entire family. She always put her family’s needs before her own.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald H. Lopes; sons, Ronnie D. Lopes and Timmy L. Lopes; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Jo Hicks.

The visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel in Watsonville from 5-9 p.m. The committal service will take place on Thursday, Dec. 21 at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel at 11 a.m. with the burial to follow directly after at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park in Watsonville.
