WATSONVILLE — A Watsonville man was arrested Thursday after he was served a search warrant by the Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Team.

At 4:51 p.m., detectives served the warrant for drugs at a home on the 100 block of 9th Street in Watsonville. During the search, detectives contacted Modesto Muñoz, 37, and other family members who were also in the house.

While searching the home, detectives, with the assistance of the Sheriff’s Office narcotic dog, Colt, located methamphetamine and heroin. Colt and detectives were reportedly able to find a large amount of methamphetamine and heroin inside Munoz’s car. A total of nine pounds of methamphetamine and one pound of heroin were seized.

The estimated street value of the methamphetamine is about $22,500 and the heroin was estimated to have a street value of more than $12,000, detectives said.
