Four local girls’ basketball players were named all-league first team selections in their respective division, the Monterey Bay League announced on Monday.

Watsonville High senior Savanah Quintana and Pajaro Valley High junior Jayleen Solorzano made the MBL-Pacific division First Team, while Monte Vista Christian freshman Mackenzie Tellez and North Monterey County High senior Jocelyn Cazarez earned spots on the MBL-Gabilan division First Team.

A sharpshooting point guard who averaged 14 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 3.8 steals per game, Quintana helped Watsonville finish tied for third in the Pacific with a 7-5 record. The Wildcatz completed their season with a 16-10 overall record after winning their first Central Coast Section playoff game since 2008.

Solorzano was a bright spot for the Grizzlies, who tied for last in the Pacific with Monterey High at 1-11. The high-scoring guard finished with a handful of 30-point performances this season, guiding Pajaro Valley to a 7-16 overall record.

Cazarez averaged 9.1 points and 4.8 rebounds per game for the Condors, whom tied for fourth in the Gabilan with three other teams at 3-9. N.M.C. was 12-13 overall and made the playoffs for the fourth straight season.

Tellez was an instant star for the Mustangs at the point guard position. She led M.V.C. in points (11.2) and assists (2.1) per game in her first season, and powered the program to its seventh consecutive postseason appearance.

The Mustangs finished the year 12-14 overall and tied for fourth in the Gabilan.

Seaside High junior Jordan Olivarez was named the M.V.P. in the Gabilan, while Notre Dame-Salinas sophomore Kelly Kinion earned M.V.P honors in the Pacific.

Both players led their teams to their respective league titles.

Watsonville senior center Julisa Vega and Pajaro Valley junior forward Michelle Ibarra were named to the Pacific division Second Team.

M.V.C. sophomore wing Madison Hill and N.M.C. sophomore guard Rebecca Castro made the Second Team in the Gabilan division.

Watsonville senior wing Jackie Barocio and Pajaro Valley senior guard Heidi Ibarra were selected to the All-Defensive team in the Pacific division.

M.V.C. freshman center Aleah Rafat and N.M.C. senior forward Cassady Healy earned spots on the All-Defensive team in the Gabilan division.

Four local players earned honorable mention: Lauren De Los Santos (M.V.C.), Faith Moore (N.M.C.), Evelyn Rios (Watsonville) and Alexandria Romero (Pajaro Valley).

Four locals made the sportsmanship team: Mariah Gonzalez (M.V.C.), Jumeika Lopez (N.M.C.), Jenny Vasquez (Watsonville) and Lucia Vega (Pajaro Valley).
