Emergency officials help a female driver out of her Honda Accord Tuesday morning after she plowed over a speed limit sign and a tree. Watsonville Police Sgt. Brian Ridgway said a man driving a Ford Escape was attempting to enter eastbound South Green Valley Road from northbound Pennsylvania Drive about 10:15 a.m. when his vehicle clipped the Honda, which was traveling eastbound on South Green Valley Road. The Honda then careened over the curb and sidewalk before shearing the solar-powered speed limit sign from its base. The sign toppled into a parked Toyota Prius, smashing the windshield. The Honda also toppled a tree before coming to a rest off the road. The female driver suffered minor to moderate injuries. The driver of the Ford remained at the scene and aided police with the investigation.
