Watsonville freshman distance runner Layla Ruiz won the 400- and 3,200-meters at the King City Invite on Saturday.

She completed the 400 in 1 minute, 2.76 seconds and the 3,200 in 11:43.42. Both marks moved her into seventh place all-time in Watsonville’s top-10 board.

Watsonville senior distance runner Daniela Salazar won the 1,600 in 5:29.15.

BOYS TRACK & FIELD

• Llamas takes third – Watsonville senior Rolando Llamas finished third in the shot put and discus at the King City Invite on Saturday.

He tossed the shot 39-4 and launched the discus 118-6. Both marks were season records.

G LEAGUE BASKETBALL

• Warriors complete season – The Santa Cruz Warriors finished their season with a 113-105 loss to the Reno Bighorns on Saturday night at Kaiser Permanente Arena.

The Warriors finished the regular season with a 23-27 record under first-year head coach Aaron Miles.

Five Warriors scored between 16 and 18 points, with forward Terrence Jones leading the team with 18 points and 10 rebounds, his fourth double-double of the season.

Guard Jeremy Pargo logged 16 points and 12 assists, his seventh double-double in just 12 games.

Center Damian Jones, currently on assignment from Golden State, had 18 points on 8-of-11 from the field, securing a league-best 68.0 percent from the field this season.

HS VOLLEYBALL

• Aptos 3, Santa Cruz 1 – Kacey Losik had eight digs, seven kills and 14 assists in Aptos’ Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League win over Santa Cruz on Friday night. The scores were 24-18, 25-10, 23-25, 25-15.

Jordan Notari had seven kills, Noah Eitzen finished with 10 kills and 10 blocks, and Michael Spinelli made 32 assists.

Truman Natividad tallied eight digs, six kills and three aces and Bryce Edwards chipped in eight kills, six digs and three aces.

Aptos (9-2, 5-1) welcomes in Soquel on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

• Aptos 6, Harbor 1 – David Reckers hit a pair of doubles in Aptos’ SCCAL win over Harbor on Friday afternoon.

Forrest Hays tossed five shutout innings and allowed only two hits on the bump.

Aptos (4-3, 1-1) returns to league action today against Scotts Valley at 4 p.m.
