Carlos Hernandez died on Saturday, April 7, 2018 in Watsonville Community Hospital. He was 79.

Mr. Hernandez was born to Jose Sanchez Hernandez and Catarina Zapata in Madero, Texas on May 13, 1938. He was raised in Texas and lived in Watsonville for over 40 years with his brother Gregorio. He worked in agriculture most of his life. He loved watching western and wrestling movies. Every Sunday he enjoyed listening to oldies. He was affectionately known to all as “Charlie.” He was a strong and an independent person, loved by many especially his family.

Mr. Hernandez is survived by his three brothers, Gregorio, Eduardo, and Santiago Hernandez; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tony Hernandez; and his sister, Alicia Hernández.

Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Friday, April 13 from 9 a.m. to noon with a Christian Ceremony to begin at noon, followed by a burial at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park at 1 p.m.
