Lefonda (Lee) Hedberg, died peacefully on Monday, May 7, 2018. She was 96.

She was born in Savannah, Mo. on March 8, 1922 to John Leo Rogers and Margaret Graves Rogers. She eventually moved from Omaha, Neb. to California where she lived in Long Beach, Grass Valley, Yuba City, Watsonville, Scotts Valley and lastly, Santa Cruz.

She worked as a Secretary and then a Stenographer for Firestone Tire Company and the Monterey County Agricultural Commissioner’s Office: Farm and Home Division. She loved making jewelry, a skill she had hone since the 1960s. She also enjoyed listening to gospel and country music.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Howe; sister, Mary Coon; sister-in-law, Hazel (Ellie) Rogers; seven grandchildren; and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd Goodman, a Paratrooper during WWII on February 9, 1945; and her husband of 47 years, Clifford Hedberg, on May 1, 2014; and her brother, Leo Rogers.

She will be laid to rest alongside Clifford at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella on Friday, May 18 at 2:30 p.m.
