Nick Bautista, MVC, Sr.: Arguably the best receiver in the Southern Conference of the Central Coast Section last season, Bautista will be one of several explosive options for the Monte Vista Christian football team this fall.
The 6-foot, 180-pound speedster finished second in the CCS in receiving yards, totaling 1,102 yards on 69 grabs. Also a talented sprinter for the track and field team, Bautista hauled in eight touchdowns for the Mustangs, who will compete in the Pacific Coast Athletic League Mission division this season with Alisal High, Carmel High, North Salinas High, Scotts Valley High, Soledad High and Watsonville High.
With starting quarterback Sean White gone following graduation, Bautista will not only have to raise his game to another level, but also lift the ability of whoever lines up under center.
