Anita Aguirre (left), chief of clinic operations at Salud Para La Gente, leads a tour of the Watsonville health center Thursday as part of National Health Center Week. A large group of health, county and city officials boarded a bus and toured health centers across the county as part of the national celebration. The Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors presented a proclamation declaring it as National Health Center Week in the county. Salud’s expanded facility on the corner of East Beach and Marchant streets, which opened in 2016, added more space for the existing primary care medical clinic, which includes dental, behavioral health, women’s health services and vision. “We are creating more access to care,” Aguirre said.
