Firefighters from several agencies tackle a fire that broke out in an abandoned building at 29 Rancho Road in Watsonville Monday morning. Around 9:20 a.m. emergency dispatchers received several calls of smoke emanating from the boarded up outbuilding. Cal Fire Battalion Chief Brian Ham said firefighters got a quick knock down on the fire. No injuries were reported. The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office took one man into custody at the scene on suspicion of trespassing on the property where the fire broke out. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
